Most of the images in this drawing were produced by using recursive (ie self-invoking) computer drawing methods. The water's edge is composed of Koch curves, and the lily pads using the curve in figure 9.5.

The ferns and their reflections were plotted as invariant sets, the reflections plotted selectively so only the part on the blue water was shown.
